RRB Technician Exam City Intimation Slip and Admit Card
Before the exam, RRB will first release the Exam City and Date Intimation Slip. This slip tells candidates which city and date they have been given for the exam. It is expected to come out around 10 days before the exam, that is, close to 26 September 2026.
After this, the Admit Card, also called the e-Call Letter, will be released about 4 days before each candidate’s exam date, so around 2 October 2026 onwards. Candidates must download this admit card using their registration number and date of birth or password. This admit card carries the roll number, exam centre address, and reporting time, and it must be brought to the exam hall without fail.
Candidates also need to carry a valid photo ID, like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence. The exam centre will do Aadhaar-based biometric checking before letting candidates inside, so it is important to keep the Aadhaar unlocked in the UIDAI system before exam day.
RRB Technician Exam Pattern 2026
The CBT is a single-stage test. It will have 100 questions to be solved in 90 minutes. There is negative marking of one-third mark for every wrong answer, so candidates should attempt questions carefully. The paper usually covers General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness on Current Affairs.
RRB Technician Selection Process
Selection for these posts is done through the following steps.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): this is the main and single stage exam for most candidates
- Document verification: for candidates who clear the CBT
- Medical examination: to check fitness for the job
Since it is a single-stage test, marks scored in the CBT play a big role in the final merit list, along with category-wise reservation rules.
